IBM Lenovo Notebook
Last November 18, 2009 I published this article Lenovo Notebooks for Less, the one with the price of the notebook really really cheap. It’s so cheap that even an average working person would be able to afford to buy a unit or two during payday. The price is PHP 1,311.76, if you would convert to USD it would be around $26-$28, cheap right? This news, made almost everyone in my contacts crazy to grab a few units for the coming holiday season. And up to know there are still few who are asking about it.
Well, sorry to burst everyone’s bubble but the price on the page that you saw is a typo from the publisher’s end. How did I know about it? Am I sure about it? Yes, pretty much sure, and to cut the story short, I had a friend of mine called the Lenovo Hotline and she said and she was informed that the pricing on the product site is a typographical error, it should have been in USD not in PHP. Well, below is the message she sent me after calling Lenovo Hotline found on the website.
Sorry to burst your bubble guys…
I just called the Lenovo hotline and they said that it was a typographical error.
The price should have been in dollars according to them so it will approximately cost 60-70 thousand pesos..![]()
hehehehe….sorry guys
better luck to us next time!!!!-tata!
Well, there you have it! I hope the issue is now cleared. I would like to apologize to all people who got excited about this for nothing. If you still can’t accept the fact that it’s a typo error on their end and for suffering those sleepness nights due to excitement. Call their hotline number and file a ticket of complaint or something…and bring down their house!
One last note, since last week and until tuesday of this week I was monitoring the the site of the Lenovo Product in question and they still haven’t corrected the issue. But after publishing this article, I went back to the site, and they have changed the price from PHP to USD. It’s about time. And oh, a big thanks to Ms. Kathrina Paglinawan, a former student and a friend of mine for taking the hassle of calling the customer hotline of Lenovo to clear up the issue, thanks Kat!
